In 1994, Dr. Earnest Webb and his wife Rosetta started a private practice dedicated to servicing the African American community. Recognizing both the limited opportunities for African American Psychotherapist to network and the need for a centralized resource to help the public and private agencies locate African American providers, they convened a meeting of like-minded professionals in 2004.
From that gathering, the nonprofit African American Private Practitioners in Behavioral Health was created, with Dr. Webb serving as its founding president. Their vision laid the foundation for a supportive network committed to excellence, collaboration, and improving access to behavioral health care services in African American communities.

Mission
The mission of the African American Private Practitioners in Behavioral Health is to improve members’ abilities to provide quality behavioral health services through opportunities for networking, support and generating income.
Vision
